In the world of travel, every so often you experience a type of customer service you only expect from taking an entire floor of the Ritz, Savoy or Mandarin Oriental. You know, the kind of service a superstar gets when they're paying £100,000 a night. Lawrence of Morocco just showed me how that kind of service can be done by a small business steeped in its own history that's been operating for many decades as a tour operator in Morocco.
Their attention to detail, responsiveness and high touch approach basically humanises a process which in the travel industry has all too often been productised, mechanised and clinical. They seem to understand that travel is an experience that cannot be returned and as such it has to be planned and executed with care. I just gave them them a problem and the outcomes I wanted. Very simple. I want to go to Morocco. It's my wife's birthday and I want her to be happy.
They got a large number of small things right end-to-end, from the best seats on the plane, transfers to hotel and airport, choice of hotel based on what we like, places to eat, trips to take. Everything just worked, no glitches, no mistakes. This cannot have been a one off, I got lucky experience. It was too slick, passionate and well practised and executed to be a mistake.
Thank you for humanising my travel experience. Many large organisations could learn a lot from you. You don't have a new customer, you have a new relationship and a new friendship. I'll be raving about you to all my friends.
Dar Ayniwen Villa Hotel is nothing short of an experience of paradise. Imagine the feeling you would get discovering an oasis in a desert except when you arrive it's better than that. Set in lush palm tree sprinkled grounds with its own bird sanctuary, it provides an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Even when the hotel is full (it only has accommodation for 18 people), you always feel as though you have the place to yourself.
With rooms in the main house and in the gardens we stayed in Le Rotunde at the end of the gardens. It is exquisitely and authentically decorated with a beautiful round bedroom (and of course, a round bed), a bathroom that cleverly blends retro decor with modern facilities, and has its own swimming pool.
Service and food is 5 star, actually the whole experience is 5 star. We couldn't get enough of Dar Ayniwen, and enjoyed it so much we just had to stay one more day. We'll be back again next year as sure as the sun shines, to visit a paradise that maybe the world's best kept secret.
Leon, It was our pleasure to take care of your travel needs for your trip to Morocco. We do try to be the polar opposite of where travel seems to be going these days (booking.com, expedia and all the other very imporsonal ways of booking a trip).
Travel is an art and when people want to travel to Morocco (and soon to Oman) we like to get it right for you.
We are grateful to have clients like you who kindly tell their friends about our work as we rely heavily on personal recommendations in a world where it is virtually impossible to compete with the large operators who are all over the first page of Google results.
