Toxic debt

My friend, Frank Dunn, says in an email today about the huge bail out of the US banking system being agreed this weekend;

Basically if the US do not implement this, the global financial system will stop working: the interbank channels are clogged up with toxic debt and only the heaviest laxative will clear them out.

Not a bad way of putting it really.
