Good Capital - a Business For Good?

When we launched the book Winning by Sharing we created a publishing identity called Business For Good.  Anna Pollock inspired by Jim Collins ("we've entered an era when what a company stands for is more important than what it sells"), devised our credo:

"We believe that global business has the money, power and moral obligation to make a significant positive difference in today’s troubled world and that by making a difference business can help itself as well as the whole."  Anna urges us to demonstrate our commitment to "proving that visionary, value-led enterprises, that do take responsibility for the world in which they operate and from which they create wealth, will be more successful than those that focus exclusively on the bottom-line."

Good Capital has emerged as a model Business For Good. "We founded GoodCap to support a new form of investing—one that recognizes the power and the lessons of the market to address profound and seemingly intractable social issues"

We wish Good Capital, Zopa, Prosper and many others in this new class of business all the success they deserve. Winning by Sharing isn't about group hugs, love ins or 'winning by giving everything away'.  It's about sharing as a realistic, economically viable and socially responsible way of doing business.
